Luxembourg: PhD Position in Mathematics

Scholarship Provider: The University of Luxembourg, Mathematics Research Unit, Faculty of Science, Technology and Communication.

Research Group: Geometry and Mathematical Theory of Quantization (Sergei Merkulov).

Application deadline: 1st September 2013 (or later, until the position is filled by a qualified candidate). 

Starting Date:1st November 2013 or later.Temporary contract, initially for 3 years with a maximal prolongation up to 4 years, 40 hours/week. 

Eligibility: 

• Master degree (or an equivalent degree) in Mathematics of high quality
• Solid knowledge in Geometry and Algebra;
• Dedication to doing Mathematics on a research level;
• Willingness to integrate in a team;
• Good written and oral skills in English;
• Some basic knowledge of French and/or German is helpful but not required.

Your Role:

• Research in one of the areas: algebra, geometry, mathematical physics
• A limited teaching activity of 2 hours per week.
